McLaren still aims sub-seven minute lap for P1 at Nurburgring

McLaren still wants its P1 model to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife track in less than seven minutes.

A recently released picture of the car was found by Jalopnik on the Chinese website which showed a lap time of 6:33.26. The timing appeared doubtful to them and so they contacted McLaren right away.

The company responded by saying that the image was included on a slide which was part of a mood board to inspire the design team for the McLaren P1, and not the engineers, who are working to a target time of merely sub-7 minutes.

Though the time posted in the picture may not be genuine, but it gives a clear idea of what the ambitions of the company are with regards to their P1 model. Till the task is achieved, we have to wait for an official run with the super car which hopefully should occur in the coming time soon.
