Rumors have been circulating for some time now that McLaren is working on a track only P1 similar to Ferrari’s FXX program.
With the announcement of 2013 pperating and pre-tax profit, McLaren has also confirmed the track only P1 will be revealed next year and the all-new sportcar, codenamed P13 will be available end of 2015, going against the Porsche 911.
Details about the track only P1 are limited, but it will be produced in very limited numbers and taking the road going car into more extremes. The track only P1 will be available only to clients who have ordered one of the 375 road legal versions and it will be also the most powerful car yet.
Regarding P13, the automaker revealed much more saying it will be a comfortable, usable, and beautiful mid-engined two seater sportscar, built around a familiar carbon fibre chassis.
At least two body variants will be offered, taking McLaren Automotive’s total annual production to around 4,000 units per year.
Regarding 2013 business year the company had a turnover of £285.4M with an pperating profit of £12.4m.
