There is an interesting bit of news coming from the German soil. A media from the country is reporting that the luxury German automaker, Mercedes-Benz, and its AMG tuning division are planning to take on the likes of the Porsche Panamera and the Audi TT. If this proves to be true, the world of automobiles is just getting a whole lot more exciting than ever before.
As reported by the Auto Motor und Sport, the upcoming contender from Mercedes-AMG will be utilizing the company’s MFA2 chassis. As a reminder, this is also the very chassis that underpins the latest generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class vehicle lineups. In addition to that, the entry level model of the Daimler-owned firm will also allegedly spawn a potent and more attractively looking derivative that should make its world debut as the decade nears its end. This, according to Mercedes, will go head to head against the Audi TT Coupe. In addition to that, a retractable canvas roof derivative is also a work in progress and is bound to take the competition to the Audi TT Roadster, the open top variant of the TT model from the luxury German automaker, Audi.
As for the model that will most likely try to take on the Panamera from Porsche, also a Germany-based luxury automaker, this one will take advantage of the chassis that Mercedes-Benz uses on its E-Class model. This Porsche Panamera rival will feature four doors in total. Yet, in spite of the similar chassis to that of the E-Class model, the car sports a design that is very different when compared to that of the E-Class. According to the report from the aforementioned German media, this Panamera competitor may be making its way to the market the very same time the next generation E-Class, the W213, hits the market and that will be next year.
