Those waiting for the GLC vehicle model from Mercedes-Benz to come out may well be in for a treat. Thing is, the German-based luxury automaker has been reported to be planning full reveal of the aforementioned compact crossover model come June this year.
According to the latest reports in the auto industry, the German company will be giving the car a new nomenclature and this will hugely influence the outgoing GLK model. The German company is renaming the successor to the outgoing model as the GLC, a moniker which indicates similarities to the C-Class model form the company. Also, taking into consideration that the latest batch of spy shots of the vehicle shows the car with just a very light amount of camouflage, it is safe to say that an official reveal is just around the corner, which leads us to believe that June will be the month of the reveal.
As can be seen in the adjacent spy shots, the upcoming GLC model from Mercedes-Benz is most likely to feature a new chassis paired with a modern visual styling. In addition, the car will also bring some novelties, considering the fact that the luxury German marquee has actually engineered the car for the right hand drive (RHD) automotive markets around the world. It is believed that an AMG Sport derivative is also in the works and that it will rely on a 3.0L V6 engine with twin turbochargers under the hood. Slotting above the model is the GLC 63 AMG. The latter is expected to come with an even more powerful engine, a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine.
The German automaker has reportedly made the GLC model rather big. This, according to reports, is to provide enough room for the company’s GLA model. With that being said, buyers of the Mercedes-Benz GLC can expect a very accommodating cabin that has the luxury of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan. Last but not least, sales of the Mercedes-Benz GLC are expected to commence in the 3rd quarter this year.
