Voila! Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG has been named as the world’s fastest electric vehicle, which delivers astonishing performance with zero emissions, and it has been launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The all electric Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG, comes with four electric motors delivering 740 hp (551 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, two independent transmissions have been installed to provide direct drive to each axle and AMG Torque Dynamics system provides selective drive to individual wheels depending on the type of traction which are available in three different modes, Comfort, Sport and Sport plus. With such a kind of Engine the all new Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG runs from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph).
The four motors mounted inside the drivetrain gets energy from a 60 kWh lithium-ion liquid-cooled battery pack which weights 548 kg (1208 pounds), the cornering, handling and steering performance a.k.a the double wishbone suspension in Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG Electric Drive has been ditched for a pushrod configuration with horizontally mounted springs and dampers. The new Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG Electric Drive stands high on 19-inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in 265/35 tires in the front and 205/30 tires at the rear.
Well all that said, the price of the world’s fastest electric vehicle, the Mercedes Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG falls at whopping €416,000 ($536,200).
