MMDA report: 95,615 road accidents reported in 2015

We just got to know that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has assembled an awesome report on vehicle accidents in 2015 and it looks high as compared to numbers from the previous year.

A taped 95,615 traffic accidents took place in 2015– 5,357 more than in 2014– and it led to the death of 519 individuals, injury to 17,103 individuals and an overall of 77,993 cases of damage to properties.

Motorbikes are No.1 on the list of modes of transport with the most variety of deaths or injuries from roadway accidents with 262 cases as well as the non-fatal roadway events with 11,620.

Trucks with 129 and private automobiles with 125 total the leading 3 automobile types that triggered death in roadway accidents in 2015 while in non-fatal roadway mishaps, personal cars went up to the 2nd area with 7,427 cases and utility jeepneys (PUJs) ranked in 3rd with 2,161.

Private vehicles have actually triggered the most with 83,077 cases followed by trucks with 15,737 and vans at 14,413 when it comes to properties damage.

These numbers originated from the MMDA’s Metro Manila Accident Recording and Analysis System (MMRAS), which was developed by the Roadway Security Unit (RSU) of the MMDA-Traffic Discipline Office-Traffic Engineering Center (MMDA-TDO-TEC), with the cooperation and support of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
