Tesla Inc will begin taking orders for its solar roof tiles this year in April, CEO Elon Musk stated in a Tweet on Friday.
The solar-powered roof shingles were revealed in October last year to inform the advantages of combining his electric vehicle maker with solar installer SolarCity Corp.

There was no information on cost.
Tesla has stated before the cost of the roof would be lower than a standard roof plus solar.
By including solar modules into roofs, Tesla is wishing to succeed with a solar innovation that to this day has had little success.
