Now the luxurious Bentley has become even more attractive with the Series 51 design options which is available on the continental flying Spur and Speed. The company is offering its customers the option of choosing from 14 designs for their car. This makes the exclusive Bentley even more attractive. In addition all Continental flying spur and super sports models are equipped with a high tech touch screen infotainment system with a 30 GB hard disk storage space.
The series 51 design option ranges from Duo-tone exterior paint options to interior color and trim combination. Some of the highlights include unique paint finishes, 19 inch alloy wheels and special badging. Duo-tone means that besides the main color applied to the body, there is also an accent color that runs from the bonnet to the boot lid. Dirk van Braeckel, Bentley’s director of design comments:
“The Series 51 design concept is inspired by the spirit of the inaugural Bentley styling department in Crewe established by the gifted John Blatchley, who shaped the original and iconic 1950s Bentley Continentals. Today, it provides for a virtually bespoke ordering service due to the thousands of configurations available through Bentley’s expansive color and trim catalogue.”
Every Series 51 model also gets unique nine-spoke 19-inch alloys finished in a cool graphite tone complemented by Series 51 wing badges positioned behind the front wheel arches. Customers can also specify whether they want blue brake calipers and black or chrome wing vents as well.
For the interiors they operate on a “rule of three” principle. According to this principle, the color specialists select a main color, preferably a darker shade, and then a second color, providing an impressive contrast. The third color is the accent color which goes on stitching and piping. The interiors are made form specially chosen wood veneers and aluminum panels making it all the more attractive.
Bentley says that if the options they have provided is still not satisfactory to the client, they offer to create a new option for the client. This encompasses the spirit of the series 51 designs that is to customize your color. They say that the given options are just a starting point to creating designs which make a personal statement.
In addition, the touch screen infotainment system uses the state of art technology. An 8 inch screen displays the car’s audio system, telephone, ride and comfort settings as well as the latest navigation system, which uses both an in-car hard-disc drive and a DVD player to access route data. The graphic interface of the screen has been developed in collaboration with Bentley’s interior designers, to ensure that it is in sync with the carefully designed interiors.
It is compatible with Google maps and uses dynamic navigation to avoid heavy traffic spots and can locate destinations using geo-tagged photos from an SD card. Music can be played and monitored from an iPod as well as from a six-disc CD changer, SD card reader or directly from the car’s hard-disc drive. The hard disk can also store up to 15GB of music.
