Gian Mario Rossignolo, CEO of the Italian automotive company and also the person responsible to get the De Tomaso Deauville crossover into picture as well as the one to get the brand back to life has announced plans of the company to get in a modern day successor to the Pantera sports car. The expected date of this event as stated by the man is end 2011. The De Tomaso Deauville has been showcased at the Geneva Motor Show event.

A new video that has made its way to the web sphere displays the 21st century Pantera. The video depicts a prototype sports car making its way out of the DeTomaso factory located in Grugliasco, Italy. The car has been camouflaged to an extent with a black make up. The coupe however is distinguishable due its massive lateral air intakes and the intoxicating noise of the engine as the car accelerates. That it’s a special one that is hidden under the covers is all too evident.

Official details about the car are yet to be released. There is however speculation that the car would sport a V8 engine sourced from Ford which is in line with what the original Pantera has. The body of the car is expected to be that of aluminum. Video clip of the car is available through YouTube.
