2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class MPV is quite similar to its predecessor

by Alex

Not too long ago the new 2012 Mercedes Benz A Class had been the talk of the town with its official designs being discussed and displayed. The car had a five-door hatchback body styled after the impressive A-Class concept which had been shown at the New York and Shanghai Auto Shows event held in April. There is a new model that is coming up soon named the 2012 B-Class minivan which would be one more in the lineup of the A-Class model. There would be lots of similarity between the two models is what was expected.

The photographs that have been received however dictate otherwise. The overall shape and styling of the two cars that is the current B-Class and its successor has been kept largely the same. The current B Class is however a wee bit longer and taller too. The front end of the current B Class is evidently influenced by the latest crop of Mercedes Benz cars and SUV. However, on the whole it can be tough figuring out the differences between the two versions.

Interior space of the new B-Class model naturally is more given the increased overall dimensions. Both the passenger and the luggage space have increased. Photographs shows the dashboard as well as the center console have been revamped while the car would continue to be a five seater one.

Both the A and B Class cars are front wheel drive ones and also have the same engine fit which is a gasoline and diesel engines. Then there will also be a 2.0-liter four cylinder petrol unit with turbocharging and direct-injection technology. The car would also be incorporated with the start stop technology which saves on fuel consumption as well as have advanced transmission options giving it additional CO2 emission control characteristics.

The B-Class should be up on display at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled this fall. Sales of the car in the European market are expected to commence in the following year. Mercedes have also hinted at brining the A Class model over to the US market but has made no mention about their B-Class model.
