This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance show witnessed the line of Infiniti new cars in the making. There would be the 348 horseower kitted-out G Coupe which is from the firms new IPL performance division. They would also be showcasing their new entry level model in the G sedan range which would be the G25 that has the 2.5 liter V6 engine fitted on it.
The displays of the show would get to the showroom by September and will have prices that start from $30,950 which is lower than the G37 price by $2,300. This is of course excluding handling charges.
The G25 sedan which would be available in the US would have a Nissan VQ25HR 2.5-liter V6 which incidentally is the same one used on the Skyline 250GT model also. The engine delivers 218 hp and 187 lb ft of torque in comparison to the V6 on the G37 which is of 3.7 liter capacity and delivers 328 hp and 269 lb ft torque.
For transmission the car has the standard 7 speed automatic transmission system and there are the configurations of rear wheel or all wheel drive options. There is no confirmation on whether the manual transmission system would be available or not.
Infiniti VP Ben Poore mentions “With the new G25 Sedan, we’re broadening the appeal of the G Line with a model designed to provide an additional choice for buyers looking for a true luxury sedan, but who might not need the higher levels of performance provided by our larger engine-equipped G37 models.”
The car would be available in three variants, G25 Sedan, G25 Sedan Journey and G25x Sedan AWD. Leather seats, 8-way power driver’s seat and 4-way power front passenger’s seat, Automatic Temperature Control, premium audio system with six speakers and XM Satellite Radio, 17-inc h alloys, xenon headlamps, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS) are standard fit on all these models.
The GT25 Journey model has in addition RearView Monitor, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, auto on/off headlights and Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control.
