A New Project In Progress: 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe Configurator

Now you can “Build Your Own 2012 650i Coupe” using one of the newest on-line programs – 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe Configurator.

The new BMW 6 Series coupe will hit dealerships on October 1st, and it can be bought for $83,000. That is, before you think at all kind of options like wheels size, leather seats, Drive Assistance Pack etc. BMW just launched the online configurator for the 650i coupe, and with every option selected, you’ll go just a bit over $100,000.

2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe has under the hood the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. It produces 400 horsepower between 5,500 rpm and 6,400 rpm, and a stout 450 pound-feet of torque from 1,750 rpm up through 4,500 rpm.

An eight-speed automatic transmission manages that power. This transmission can be controlled manually via a pair of paddle-shifter or, if you prefer to row your own gears in the more traditional manner, a six-speed manual gearbox will also be offered. The engine and both transmission options help propel the car from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.8 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph.

The German brand, while the 650i coupe goes on sale first, will also offer the turbocharged, six-cylinder 640i in the U.S. at a later date. For now, only the V8 can be built online, so head to BMW’s website and start playing around if you like.
