Fans of luxury cars must have known about Cadillac. Yes, this particular automaker from the land of the US is all about luxury. With every single vehicle it produces, luxury always plays a key role. So is the case with the company’s flagship CTS-V sedan. Speaking of this sedan, the executives at Cadillac have unveiled that people can expect to see the next generation version of the model at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event which will take place in Detroit.
The executives, however, are not keen on releasing more details of the upcoming vehicle. However, some spy photo shoots have already been made available on the World Wide Web. Judging by these spy photo shoots, the successor to the current generation CTS-V sedan is likely to sport a newly designed front grille, giving the car a rather aggressive appearance. In addition to that, the front fascia will also be decorated with a bulging engine hood. Going to the rear of the car, we can find a quad-tailpipe configuration for the exhaust system and a rear diffuser. Of course, there are still plenty of other new features to expect.
The US automaker has been very coy, too, in detailing about the spec sheet that the car will possibly bring. However, the potential is a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine. This will give the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V to have a peak power output of 650 hp with a peak torque of 880 Nm. This engine is also used by GM for the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. However, as reported by the Autoblog, there is a probability that the engine will be tuned down a little bit for use in the upcoming luxury CTS-V sedan from Cadillac. Well, the only way to find out for sure is to visit the upcoming NAIAS when the event finally starts.
