Next Generation Hyundai Elantra Spied Inside and Out

The current generation Elantra from the South Korean automaker, Hyundai, has been in the automotive market for quite some time and as such, it is only appropriate for a new model to take its place. As it turns out, the next generation Hyundai Elantra is actually in the works and it has recently been spied while undergoing some factory winter tests.

Known as the Elantra in most parts of the globe, the car is known as the Avante in its home country, South Korea. Taking a close look at the spy photos of the vehicle, it is fairly easy to assess that the car will not come with complete change over its predecessor, at least in terms of its visual styling. Needless to say, this is rather unfortunate considering the predecessor is starting to look out of date. Nonetheless, Hyundai has made sure to include some styling updates as the ones it has recently introduced for its i30 and i20 facelifted models. This means that sharper lines are to be expected. A hexagonal front grille should be available as well. Also, when compared to the present generation model, the upcoming Hyundai Elantra no longer features a pair of headlamps that stretches far to the back. The curvy taillights of the present generation model will no longer be available, either. Their place will be filled by a more linear pair of taillights instead.

Thankfully, a sloping roofline is to maintain its place on the vehicle, which is codenamed AD. In addition to that, buyers can now expect to get LED daytime running light strips as well on the front bumper of the vehicle.

As for the engine, it is believed that buyers will be able to choose either a petrol turbocharged GDi engine or a CRDi diesel engine. Better yet, a hybrid engine will reportedly be available as well, although not on the day the car is launched. Then, about a year after the next generation Hyundai Elantra is launched, buyers can expect to see a coupe version of the car as well.
