2015 Shelby GT Mustang Makes Bow

by SpeedLux

The Shelby GT Mustang has always been one of the most favorite and anticipated cars for years. Now, Shelby American, the automaker in charge of manufacturing the car, has officially taken the veil off the 2015 Shelby GT Mustang.

As is often, if not always, the case, the next generation Shelby GT Mustang is also built on the platform used for constructing the Ford Mustang GT. Yet, the car comes with a set of body kits, some of which are made of the lightweight carbon fiber material. To begin with, it sports a front splitter. In addition to that splitter, the car is also coming with a pair of side skirts and of course, a rear diffuser. As for the carbon fiber components, customers can expect a carbon fiber rear spoiler, carbon fiber side mirror caps and also a carbon fiber ventilated engine hood. The car also looks aggressive with its new front grille design, special badges and body stripes. Heck, even a fake gas cap is available, too! The car runs on Michelin tires wrapping 20-inch bespoke alloy wheels.

Stepping into the cabin, the car offers comfort with its dash plaque, carbon fiber trim and embroidered headrests. Other components notable in the car include floor mats with the Shelby brand on them and door sills with the brand Shelby GT printed on them.

Power is expected to come from a 5.0L V8 engine that has been supercharged by the Ford Racing team. There is even a sports exhaust system available in place. This gives the car a peak power output of 627 bhp in total.

The US automaker is asking customers to pay for $39,995 to apply the Shelby GT package to their Ford Mustang GT. Orders have started and the very first customers to buy the package should get the package delivered to them in the 2nd quarter of this year.
