During a launch event at the Saatchi Gallery in London, UK, electric vehicle company NextEV unveiled its brand, NIO. This visionary electric car brand will assist users discover the cheerful way of life of car ownership by developing motivating automobiles that deliver remarkable performance, a new standard for visual design and unique user experiences.
Additionally, the company revealed its electric supercar, the NIO EP9, which has accomplished a new lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschliefe. On October 12 this year, the EP9 lapped the 20.8 km ‘Green Hell’ in 7m 05.12 s, leaving behind the previous EV lap record held, marking it out as the fastest electrical car worldwide. Furthermore, on November 4th, it would beat the EV record at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, tape-recording a time of 1m 52.78 s, eclipsing the former record of 2m 40s.
Having four high-performance inboard motors and 4 specific gearboxes, the EP9 provides 1-MegaWatt of power, equivalent to 1,360 PS. The EP9 speeds up from 0-200kph in 7.1 seconds and has a leading speed of 313kph. With an interchangeable battery system, the EP9 is developed to be charged in 45 minutes and has a range of 427 kilometres.
The carbon cockpit and chassis embodies a brand-new method to performance car style to manage the physical demands of a vehicle with 3G cornering capabilities, with added structural solidity and aero effectiveness. The EP9 can achieve 24,000 Newtons of downforce at 240kph.
