NHTSA confirms 11th death connected to faulty Takata air bag inflator

The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated on Thursday it has verified 11th death in the United States brought on by a ruptured Takata Corp air bag inflator.

The firm stated a 50-year-old lady passed away after a September 30 crash in Riverside County, California in a 2001 Honda Civic that was first recalled in 2008 and never repaired that belongs to the largest-ever U.S. vehicle safety recall.

In June, the safety agency advised owners of over 300,000 unrepaired remembered Honda cars – consisting of the 2001 Civic – to get instant repair works and contacted owners to stop owning the “unsafe” vehicles till repaired.
