Nissan to cut Micra CVT prices due to localization

For India, Nissan has informed that the launch of its local production automatic hatchback variant, the Micra CVT, at a cost that has been decreased by up to Rs. 54,252 ($800) on the back of increased parts localization.

As per Nissan, the Automatic XL variant of the premium hatchback, was originally costing Rs. 6,53,252 ($9,673) and now it will cost Rs. 5,99,000 ($8,870). Similarly, the Micra Automatic CVT XV is now priced at Rs. 6,73,500 ($9,973), earlier rate was Rs. 7,19,213 ($10,650)

“As Micra is produced right here in India, we are able to better serve the market in terms of faster, more efficient delivery and improved localisation levels. This allows us to pass on these benefits to our customers in the form of a revised, even more competitive price for our popular premium hatchback,” pointed out Arun Malhotra, Managing Director – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd.

The CVT model, manufactured at Nissan’s Oragadam Plant in Chennai, boosts a mileage of 19.34 kmpl. Other than Micra, the firm offers the mid sized sedan Sunny and SUV Terrano under the Nissan brand, while also manufacturing and offering the GO, GO Plus and redi-GO under the Datsun brand.
