The well-known Porsche tuning company RUF has managed to take the Cayman model to a higher level than ever before.
RUF just unveiled the CTR 3, which features a newly developed body which is not based on any existing mid-engine concept, and is made entirely of Kevlar-carbon composite. It is aerodynamically designed for high speed. Galvanized steel is used for the front structure and the passenger compartment.
This new design provides exceptional balance and agile handling, while the longer wheelbase provides better driving stability at high speeds. Inside, the passenger compartment is reinforced with RUF’s Integrated Roll Cage.
The engine, a twin-turbocharged 3.8 litre flat-six cylinder, has an output of 750 HP at 7,100 rpm. The maximum torque is 708 ft/lbs at 4,000 rpm. This engine design combines a compact construction with high performance.
The CTR 3 rolls on forged aluminum wheels with center lock. It features a staggered set of 19-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch wheels in the rear, with the widebody fitting 335/30/20 tires in the back. Those interested in purchasing a CTR 3 can also have the interior customized to their liking with leather and Alcantara options.
The CTR 3 weighs in at 3,086-lbs and with 750-hp, it has a power-to-weight ratio of 4.4-lbs per hp. That makes for a 0-62 mph time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 236-mph.
