One dead after car crash in Pamplico, South Carolina

One person has died after his car ran off the road and struck a tree, in Pamplico, South Carolina, according to officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Ronald Woodberry, 48, of Pamplico was driving a 2009 Buick really fast for conditions on River Road around 12:50 p.m. on Friday when the car ran off the right side of the road, according to the Florence County Coroner, Keith von Lutcken.

Woodberry overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road, striking a tree. Woodberry was not wearing a seatbelt and died due to injuries.

The crash is being investigated.
