Over 1,000 cars parked near Gatwick Airport found ‘dumped in a muddy field’

Rogue automobile parking firms near Gatwick Airport are being investigated after more than 1,000 vehicles were found in a muddy field – numerous with the keys lodged under the windshield wipers.

Holidaymakers had spent for their automobiles to be secured safe vehicle parking places and their keys to be kept securely until they returned home from their breaks in the sun.

However, trading requirements officials and the cops discovered one unlocked car boot filled with boxes of keys, while some vehicles had envelopes consisting of the keys tucked under the windscreen wipers – all in complete view of a nearby road.

Police have not revealed the area of the field near the airport in a bid to keep the cars – a few of which are covered in mud after the field was turned into a quagmire with the current heavy rain – safe.

Sergeant Darren Taylor stated, “We checked out the site with the district council and trading standards with the goal of exposing and taking firm action against these unethical rogue companies.”
