The French car maker, Peugeot decided to bring some sexiness to the MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) segment with its new HX1 concept study that made its world premiere at the 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt this week.
This concept comes with a 4+2 seating configuration featuring a low roof line, two hinged doors on each side, and special alloys with unique turbine blades that open up when the car is in movement in order to improve drag, measuring almost 4,954 m in length, 1,990 m in width and 1,373 m in height. In addition comes a three piece roof spoiler which also opens up when the car reaches a certain speed (over 100 Km/h / 62mph).
At the inside we’ll find a successful combination of elegance and modernity in an environment which makes use of natural materials and numerous futuristic looking elements.
The Peugeot HX1 Concept comes fitted with the automaker’s HYbrid4 diesel plug-in powertrain, which this time combines a 2.2-litre HDi diesel plant with a 70 kW electric motor. This concept can generate 299 HP (220 kW) and its electric batteries, rechargeable at a regular 240Volt outlet enable an environmentally friendly ride with zero emissions for up to 29.6 Km (18.4 miles). However, when the diesel plant is also used, the HX1 can cover 100 Km on just 3.2-litres of fuel (73.4 US mpg), while CO2 emissions will be as low as 83 grammes per Km.
