Most of us here may still remember the Macan vehicle model launched by Porsche, a luxury automotive marquee from the German soil. Well, it seems the model will be getting a new sibling soon. The German company is reportedly prepping a hybrid variant of its Macan SUV model.
As reported by the IndianAutosBlog, Matthias Muller, CEO Porsche, confirmed during the recent Geneva Motor Show event in Geneva, Switzerland, that the German company was in fact already working on the hybrid SUV. In fact, Muller also went as far as to mention that the car would potentially be coming within only a year or two.
Unfortunately, since the car has not made any appearances yet, both official and unofficial, details regarding the hybrid variant of the Porsche Macan SUV are still very scarce. Nevertheless, there are not few car enthusiasts and market analysts out there that believe the car is likely to come packing an engine that is somewhat similar to that of the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid, a hybrid variant of the Porsche Cayenne SUV.
If that turns out to be the case, then customers who purchase the new hybrid SUV from the luxury German automaker will be benefiting from a 3.0L combustion engine. Needless to say, in addition to the combustion engine, there will also be an electric motor. Working in close collaboration as a system, both the conventional engine and the electric motor under the hood of the hybrid Porsche Macan SUV will be able to provide owners of the vehicle with a total power output of 416 HP. Meanwhile, for the maximum amount of torque that this engine configuration is capable of spitting out, it is rated at the figure of 590 Nm.
