An insider from Porsche revealed some plans on the company’s next models and they sound great. Porsche is expecting to sell 150,000 units worldwide in the next 4 years, with 30% being in the US market. They plan to do reach this goal by coming up with a few new models.
A limited-edition Porsche 911 Speedster is the first to make its appearance at the end of the year. There will be just 100 911 Speedsters on the road, so the car will be priced at around $200k. The 2010 Porsche 911 Speedster will feature a wide body, 2 seats, RWD, PDK, PCCB, PASM, LSD, a 408 hp engine, 19″ wheels, and will be offered in white or blue.
At the beginning of 2011, Porsche will reveal a GT2 RS. Tagged at $245,000, the model will be limited to 135 units. The 2011 Porsche GT2 RS will have around 650 HP and will reach 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds.
Another two new models will be released in the spring of 2011. The first will be a Carrera GTS that will come with a wide body, RWD system, same engine found on the Speedster that has 408 hp mated to a 6-speed gearbox, center lock wheels, sport nose, and a sport exhaust. The coupe will be priced at $103,100 and $112,900 for the cabriolet version.
The second model is a Cayman “Spyder”. It is going to be a lighter, more powerful model (330 HP) it will feature the usual spider design clues. The price for this one will be $65k.
As for the 918 Spyder, the model is not ready yet for production but sources confirmed the new car will come soon and will be very quick to build. The production version will be revealed in August at Pebble Beach to VIP customers only.
