A car that can be considered the perfect combination of high performance, superior luxury and extreme fuel efficiency. Its the new 2011 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid that made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The car maker claimed it would make 380 hp or 279 kW of power while using just 6.8 liter of gasoline for every 100 kilometer of driving. This converts to a respectable figure of 41.54 mpg. Emission rates of the car are also equally impressive in that it releases just 159 grams of CO2 per kilometer. This one is one of the most economic Porsche of its times.
The car is fitted with Michelin’s lower rolling resistance all-season tires and has been selected after numerous trials and tests. Taking this option one gets a fuel consumption rate of 7.1 liter per 100 km or 39.70 mpg, while emission rates are 167 grams of CO2 per kilometer. All this statistics makes it a phenomenal hybrid.
Fuel efficiency or low emission is not at the cost of speed as the car is capable of making it to the 100 kmph or 62 mph mark from zero in just 6.0 seconds. The top speed is 270 kmph or 168 mph. With a single charge the car can do 2 kilometer or 1.24 miles at a max speed of 85 kmph or 53 mph. Priced at EUR106,185 in Germany and this includes VAT as well as country specific equipment fit the car would be available in June 2011.
So all in all, a car that allows its user to enjoy speed and luxury while the damage done to mother nature is the least.
