Potent Next Generation Audi R8 Spotted

by David Bond

The present generation Audi R8 has actually been around for quite a few years now. In fact, it is starting to look old. Perhaps this is also the reason why the luxury German automaker that manufactures the vehicle has recently decided to produce the e-tron variant, so as to refresh the vehicle. Yet, aside from the Audi R8 e-tron, it seems that the automaker is actually prepping the next generation R8. This speculation has come into attention on the World Wide Web pages after an image gets uploaded to the interweb. The image is believed to depict what will potentially be the next R8.

After some researches, it turns out that the image comes from an Instagram user with the account ID ‘dreboog’. This very user of Instagram even goes as far as to claim that he receives the image directly from Audi itself. Well, it remains a mystery as of now whether the car in the adjacent image is actually the next generation variant of the luxury German sports car. For all we know, the car in the image may have simply received a body kit. The car in the image seems to sport a new front fascia which includes a large gap, redesigned front grille and bumper, and a large gap between the right wing and the front bumper. Also, the wheels of the car are nowhere to be seen.

When compared to the previous spy shots of the new Audi R8, this one in the image here actually has some similarities with the one in the spy shots. The cutaway positioning of the engine hood looks identical. In addition to that, the shape of the headlamps of both vehicles looks identical as well, even down to where the LED daytime running lights are positioned. So, can it really be the whole brand new R8 from Audi? Or is it simply going to be a replica and nothing else?
