Renault Kaptur unveiled with 4WD capability

Renault has widened its lineup of crossovers after formally revealing the Kaptur in Moscow. Billed as a new model special to the Russian market, the 4×4 (4WD) crossover is one of the ten new designs that the business expects to expand their market share in the nation.

Basically a longer, wider and taller Captur, the Kaptur distinguishes itself from the former with a more rugged finish and slightly altered exterior surface as per Renault. It gets Renault’s new style philosophy, with the front fascia getting a small redesign. The brand’s logo design now sits in front of a black gloss grill while the bumper gets new C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) and slim foglights. Likewise getting small tweaks is the automobile’s headlights that function upgraded projectors.

One can find that the Kaptur does have a greater ground clearance and longer travel luggage location. Likewise present are the new huge alloy wheels. The rear area obtains C-shaped LED taillights, diffuser bumper and a brand-new exhaust pipe.

In regards to size, the Kaptur procedures 4,333 mm long, 1,813 mm large, 1,631 mm high and has a 2,674 mm wheelbase. As compared to the Captur, the brand-new crossover is 211mm longer, 35mm wider, and 46mm taller. The wheelbase, on the other hand has been extended by 68mm.

Talking about the interior, Renault declared it has a stylish and occupant-friendly cabin that can be customized to fit a purchaser’s taste. It obtains fabric upholstery with contrast stitching, heated front seats and windshield, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth and navigation, multi-function wheel, automatic environment control, storage bins and a dual-pod control panel with a digital speedometer.

To handle the severe Russian terrain and climate, the Kaptur has a 204mm ground clearance, heavy duty suspension and a 4WD system with a center locking differential. Engine lineup was not detailed but Renault stated it will have Remote Engine Start.

It will be produced in Renault’s Moscow plant and plans to go on sale by mid-2016.
