The Renault Value Up Concept Vehicle Leaked

One of the most established car makers from France, Renault, is actually keeping its lips tight in regards to what it may well be working for at the moment. Nonetheless, it seems that the media out there are more witted than the said automaker. One of the media from Britain has successfully figured out information regarding the company’s new vehicle. It turns out that Renault is currently hard at work, trying to prepare what is known as the Value Up.

The Renault Value Up is in fact a concept vehicle and it will play a significant role in the future of the French automaker. The concept will be the base of the company’s future vehicle lineups. The car will reportedly be constructed using lightweight materials, such as bamboo, resulting in a total weight of just 830 kg. However, the car will have a total length of 3.8 meters, a length which is shorter than the Renault Clio but longer than the Renault Twingo.

For those who wonder about the performance, the car counts on a 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine. Although the engine may not sound like much, it is, however, pretty eco-friendly. Its CO2 emission is just 100 g/km. Better yet, the company is even planning to build a plug-in hybrid version. The latter will emit no more than 45 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

Unfortunately, there are not too many images of the concept to be found right now. Yet, according to Autocar, the design looks quite like other production cars in the market, with big windows integrated to the doors, to begin with. The car is also said to come with rear doors whose hinges are installed at the rear part of the car, giving passengers a wider angle to access. Bamboo floors, seat bases and door panels can all be expected when customers step into the car cabin.

As a modern car, the car will feature a touchscreen display instead of the traditional knobs and buttons. Interestingly enough, the touchscreen display will comprise two LCDs that stretch over the whole dashboard. They will even take the place of the conventional instrument panels.

It is also reported that the upcoming Renault Value Up is actually based on the Citroen C4 Cactus, a lightweight and cost efficient construction material.
