Approximately two months earlier, an automaker that called itself the Rinspeed actually previewed its new vehicle model. This vehicle is known as the Buudi. Now, the automaker in question has also released official details regarding the said vehicle. It is believed that the car will make its world debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show event.
As it turns out, the car will take advantage of the platform that is also used on the BMW i3. In fact, its exterior also borrows some of the styling cues from the German electric vehicle (EV). On the roof, the car comes with the TrackView, which is essentially a telescoping laser scanner that features a high resolution camera as well as a 3D view.
The Swiss automaker in charge of the development of the vehicle has actually equipped it with a robotic arm that can be moved around. This car is intended for previewing what a self-driving electric city car is supposed to be in the future. However, the car actually comes with a steering wheel as well, just in case its owners desire to do driving the old way every now and then. Yet, when the autonomous driving mode is activated, the robotic arm – which has seven axis – will take its place and drive the car instead. In addition to that, this particular robotic arm can also serve as a personal valet or a table.
In addition to that, the car also comes with the next generation version of Harman Kardon’s vehicle infotainment system. This system is reportedly capable of recognizing the habits and preferences of the driver. A wireless charging system and an NFC automatic payment system are also available on board.
Interestingly enough, those who are interested in purchasing this vehicle model in particular will also receive a pair of electrically powered 2-wheel mini vehicles. These vehicles can be found inside the automatic retractable drawers.
