RUF unveils the 730HP and 370+km/h Rt 12 R based on the Porsche 911 Turbo at Geneva 2011

The RUF Rt 12 R made its world premier at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Porsche tuning specialist prepared this latest super car based upon the 911 Turbo. The modification applied upon the base model includes an engine upgrade that boosts output to 940 Nm or 693.3 lb ft of peak torque. There has also been a similar upgrade to the power characteristics of the engine so that it is now capable of 730 hp from the base of 500 hp and 650 Nm or 700 Nm of the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat six units. There is an overboost function that has been incorporated in the car for this boost. The top speed of the car goes to 370 kmph or 230 + mph with this boost. For transmission there is a six speed manual gearbox system fitted to the all wheel drive system.

The upgrade package also includes 19 inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in 245/ 35 tires at the front and 325/30 at the back, ceramic brakes, an aero kit and an adjustable suspension. Weight of the car has been reduced by using carbon fiber wings and, front luggage cover and bucket seats. Price of the Rt 12 R has been fixed at €279,000 or about US$386,400.
