Shelby SuperCars (SSC) is determined to regain the manufacturer of the world’s fastest production title from its main opponent – Bugatti. The brand plans to do this with a new supercar, being called “Ultimate Aero II” as no official name has been announced.
It seems that Shelby SuperCars (manufacturer of the former fastest production car on the planet) will make the name of its new supercar public in the upcoming weeks. SSC prepares this car to be launched as the 2013 model year. Beside this, the car maker even plans to post a short video on its web site regarding the car’s name.
For now the only official details are these preview images of a concept version shown to select clientele. Another important detail is that the design work is being done by none other than Jason Castriota, the former Bertone stylist responsible for the Mantide and now head of design at Saab.
This car is targeting a top speed of 275 mph to retake the crown from the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. In addition to this, the plan include a 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 creating 1,350 hp and powering the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed sequential manual gearbox.
The rumored weight is around 2,600 pounds, and to keep this down the car makes extensive use of carbon fiber for the body and even the rims.

This car is a little bit exagerated. I think it’s too futuristic .
