Manufactured by a company whose name can be easily confused with the famous Carroll Shelby, the Shelby Super Cars Ultimate Aero has been the fastest road car between 2007 and 2010, with a top speed of 256 mph. This speed was recognized even by the Guinness book of records.

SSC is a small American company that usually made replicas of more important car manufacturers like Lamborghini or Ferrari. In 2006, they released the Aero. Later, this model was modified, to make the SSC Ultimate Aero with an astonishing 1287 horsepower, which was by far the most powerful car in the world.

The SSC designed 6L V8 extremely powerful engine is incredibly powerful and generates an astonishingly high torque (1112 lb-ft at 6150 rpm). Thanks to this engine, the Ultimate Aero goes from 0-60 in 2.78 seconds. The car uses a 6-Speed Manual transmission.

The Ultimate Aero is able to reach high speed thanks to its incredible engine, but also to the light weight: this car only weighs around 1300kg, which is extremely low for a vehicle with such power.

SSC Ultimate Aero’s speed record was broken by the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. Inspite of that, this car still remains one of the very best ever designed.
