After series of teasers and spy photos of the Skoda Rapid, the company has officially revealed the Spaceback version of the Rapid.
Featuring the same 2602mm wheelbase as the regular model, the Rapid Spaceback comes with modified C and D pillars with a third side window and can be optionally fitted with a panoramic tinted glass roof which stretches from the windscreen to the rear window. At the rear one can see the addition of a roof-mounted spoiler which provides a sporty look, while the optional prolong rear window extends the dark tint glass across the roof and deep into the rear door.
Talking about the space, the cargo volume has been reduced to 415 liters from 550 liters earlier and the seats have come down to 1,380 liters from 1,490 liters once the rear seats are folded down. While the regular model is 4483mm long, the Spaceback variant has been shortened by 180 mm but the highlight is that the model still manages to offer 64mm of rear legroom and 980mm of headroom, which is the highest offered in this class.
The 2013 Skoda Rapid Spaceback will come with a choice of four gasoline and two diesel engines, with output varying from 74 hp (55 kW) to 121 hp (90 kW).
