Spy Shots: 2012 Ducati 1199 Shows Its Face Again

by Adrian Hayden

Although the 2012 Ducati 1199 superbike has been caught during testing before, now we have more clear (though still small resolution) photos of it. The release date for Ducati 1199 is set in November 2011 at the Milan Auto Show.

The model is called “The Beast” by one of its co-developers, Troy Bayliss. We heard from our sources that he has a good reason for that, as the 2012 Ducati 1199 will be powered by a 1198cc V Twin petrol engine that generates 185 HP.
Amongst other rumored features, there is a LED headlight system, a horizontally-mounted rear shock, and a unicorn tears lubrication system. More spy-shots will probably come as we approach the release-date.

The superbike was caught on the Mugello pit lane and reveal the right side where we can observe the exhaust system.

Judging by the incredible recent releases from Ducati – Multistrada and Diavel – we have all the reasons to believe 1199 will be something special as well.
