The evolution of the Subaru Imprezz WRX continues. The Japanese car maker recently announced that it will unwrap the 2011 MY sedan and hatchback of the WRX at the International Motor Show in New York by next week. The 5-door hatch and the 4-door sedan was inspired by the STI model of the brand and both will be sporting wider bodies to project a more masculine look.

The WRX designers gave the car 1.5 inches for both the front and rear to widen its stance. The car is also fitted now with firmer bushings and wider 17-inch rims and tires.
The corners of the bumpers get a sharper treatment. The fog lights blacked out. The Impreza WRX also gets a new design for its grille. Add everything up and you will get a more aggressive Subaru Impreza and a heavier one, too. The improvements to the new WRX gave it an additional 33 pounds.

The 2011 WRX will roll out to US Subaru dealerships this summer. The hatchback and the sedan will be using the turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that is capable of giving out 265 horsepower. This is coupled with a 5 speed manual gearbox.
