We Britons love our cars, that’s no secret. And although a lot of our best car manufacturers have moved abroad, we still love to celebrate all things auto. Britain is home to an eclectic mix of car shows and an even more eclectic mix of car enthusiasts. If anyone reading this is themselves a car enthusiast, but doesn’t know the best places around the country to get their car fix, then here’s a quick list of some of the best motor shows in the country.
The London Classic Car Show
Probably one of the most popular motor shows in the country, due to its location, the London Classic Car Show is a gathering of classic car enthusiasts, collectors, and dealers who are all here to revel in their passion… and maybe make some money whilst they are at it. Found at the ExCeL and usually happening in February, this is set to grow into one of the biggest motor shows in the country.
Flying Scotsman
The Flying Scotsman is an endurance rally association held annually in the north of the UK and is any rally fan’s dream event. This event might actually have the best name as well, so that’s always a bonus.
Hero – Scottish Malts
If you like Scotland and driving, then to be honest, I’m surprised you’re not there already. This event starts on the stunning shores of Loch Lomond in late April, so the views and weather are likely to be beautiful. The motor show allows for driving along some of the finest roads in the country and also offers driving tests. If this is something you’re thinking of doing, you can use the mock theory tests on toptests.co.uk to help you pass your theory prior to attending.
International Ford Show
Based in Surrey at the end of summer, this event is for Ford enthusiasts everywhere. It brings together some of the biggest fans of the first ever produced car to one place for a weekend of Ford-y fun. I doubt that the place is filled with Ford Mondeos, however, and so the place will have a more classic vibe.
Downside Concours d’Elegance
Although it sounds like a Parisian festival, this motor show actually takes place in quite possibly the most beautiful English city: Bath. This show is only around for one day at the beginning of May and brings together some of the most fascinating cars from around the globe. A lot of them are classic, but there are also lots of strange auto creations. The event also has a hog roast, so I doubt you need any more information than that; am I right?
Goodwood
I thought I would mention this one, even though you all know it already. This annual festival in Chichester at the end of June is the world’s biggest auto celebration and definitely worth a visit.
There we have some of the most interesting auto festivals in the country and for any car enthusiasts, these should all be on your to-visit list.
