The Paris Motor Show: SMART FORSTARS CONCEPT ELECTRIC CAR

The SMART FORSTARS electric concept car unveiled at The Paris Motor Show has several unique design concepts that may impact the future trends of car buyers and their choice of options to be offered by manufactures.

Smart hopes that FORSTARS will gain popularity amongst the actual end-users who favor the green revolution and accept the Electric Car Concept for environment friendly vehicle.
SMART FORSTARS has technical developments and technology inputs which are the result of innovative and creative inputs of the manufacturer’s design team.

Following salient features of the technical developments and technology inputs make a very interesting and informative reading for the car enthusiasts who support environment friendly vehicles having newer technology inputs for comfort and driving convenience that is as good as or better than the conventional cars on the road :-

1. The Smart Forstars concept is a small electric fastback coupe.

2. The body styling has very sporty exterior.

3. The Headlamps are rhombus shaped, housed in a safety cell with the matte gray color that matches superbly with the Red metallic body-shell color.

4. The roof of the sporty exterior is entirely made from glass and extends to serve as a sunvisor over the front windshield; progresses stylishly to cover the luggage area also.

5. The interior has aerodynamic styling and is finished in white, red and matching orange with a modern outlook.

6. The seats are trimmed with high-quality white bag leather with exquisite white piping.

7. Perforated leather is used in the door paneling. An integrated video camera supplements the rear view mirrors. Additional storage space is created with stowage compartments on each side.

8. A movie projector is housed in the front bonnet and integral to the bonnet frame and operated via Bluetooth from an iPhone. The manufacturers approve of this idea as a “witty” proposition. Use of any exterior wall for movie projection is ok.

9. The Powerful Battery of the FORSTAR enables the use of movie projector. The loud speakers are housed in the ventilation openings behind the doors and Provide adequate sound with quality output for outdoor application also.

10. An electric power train powers the rear wheels of the FORSTAR and uses 80-hp Electric motor. The 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack has a range of 87 miles.

11. Performance is enhanced on the FORSTAR Concept by increasing the output of the magneto-electric motor to 60kW. This results in powerful acceleration supported by 135 Nm torque. A top speed of more than 130 km/h says it all.

In overall assessment The SMART FOSTAR Electric Concept car is an SUC (Sports Utility Coupe) with room for two people and plenty of stowage space. The glass roof above the passengers cabin gives a clear view of the starry sky.

The Smart Forstar is a stylish, uncomplicated, highly functional and easy to individualise Concept Electric Car that will become a production model in 2013 as per available indications at The Paris Motor Show.

Smart boss Dr Annette Winkler said: ‘The smart is Europe’s most inexpensive series-produced electric car. ‘Not only is it emission-free and fast, it is also possible to conveniently set the perfect interior temperature in advance with a smartphone, and it is simple to charge at a domestic socket.

Smart manufacturers hope that FORSTARS will gain popularity amongst the actual end-users who favor the green revolution and accept the Electric Car Concept for environment friendly vehicle.
