A car crash killed three people on Thursday night in South Dakota.
According to the Sioux Falls Police Department, the crash took place about 5:30 p.m. on Interstate 229 near Cliff Avenue.
Initial details from officials show that a 2010 Mazda3 was northbound on the highway, when it left the roadway to the right, struck into a tree, and caught on fire.
A male driver, 22, a female passenger, 18, and another female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their identities were not released pending notification to their families.
The northbound lane of I-229 was closed following the crash for several hours.
