Three killed after car crash on Route 66 in Arizona

Three people were killed after a two-vehicle crash on Route 66 on Saturday.

The crash took place at about 1:04 a.m. near Milepost 64 on westbound Route 66 at northern Kingman when a sedan crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on.

It is yet to be known why the sedan crossed.

The sedan engulfed and the two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 66 was closed in both directions for some time due to the crash.

Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
