Three Wagon Mound residents were killed on Friday night after their vehicle was hit by a drunk driver in Wagon Mound, New Mexico.

The crash took place when a 2022 Toyota passenger car, driven by Blanco and occupied by Dominic Armijo, 20, was traveling west on State Road 120 and accelerating before Blanco rear-ended a 2004 Saturn passenger car that was backing out of a driveway.

The driver of the Saturn, a 42-year-old identified as Irene Romero, with her 4-year-old, and 9-year-old female passengers were killed in the collision.

A 21-year-old female passenger of that car was transported to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

All the victims hailed from Wagon Mound.

Armijo was charged with Tampering with Evidence.  Currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he will be booked into the San Miguel County Detention Center upon release.

New Mexico State Police investigated the crash.
