Three people dead after crash with semi-truck in Minnesota

Three people were killed after a car crashed into a semi-truck near Spring Grove, Minnesota on Saturday morning.

Officials attended the crash site by around 7 a.m. on State Highway 11 near State Highway 81.

A 42-year-old identified as Jesus Velaquez ran a stop sign and crashed with a semi-truck driven by Adam Tykac, 38, of Oostburg.

Velaquez and his passengers identified as Gustavo Martinez, 33, of South Beloit, Ill., and an unidentified male, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Martinez and the other passenger were not using their seatbelts.

Tykac and the driver of a third vehicle that was hit by debris but had no injuries.

Green County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. They believe that fog, speed, and traffic violations contributed to the crash.
