The winner of the Tour de France, Chris Froome, has been awarded a bespoke Jaguar F-Type.
The two-tone Jaguar model features Team Sky Pro Cycling livery, sponsor decals and some of the selected photographs from fans which were collected as part of Jaguar’s social media campaign known as #GetBehindTeamSky.
Jaguar did not reveal which model Chris has received but the S badging suggests it is either an F-Type S or V8 S. The F-Type S comes fitted with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that generates 380 HP (280 kW) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, while the F-Type V8 S comes equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 495 HP (364 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque.
Chris Froome was quoted saying, “Every young cyclist dreams of one day riding in the Tour de France, let alone winning it. I haven’t done it alone though. Team Sky has a great set of partners, and I’d like to thank Jaguar for their brilliant support over the past four years.” He even said that the company had invested a lot of time and ingenuity into designing the XF Sportbrake, which was the perfect race support car for them. It has been crucial for Jaguar to keep the team on the road throughout the competition.
