Zagato has recently announced its plans to build two bespoke Aston Martins to celebrate the Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary.
Firstly, the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial has been described as an exotic cross of Aston Martin DNA with Italian flair and Milanese inspiration. It comes with features such as a stylish front fascia with a prominent grille and retro headlights. There’s also a double bubble roof, a distinctive rear end and a unique greenhouse. This one-off model will be delivered to a young and prestigious Japanese entrepreneur whose details have not been revealed yet.
On the other hand is the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial which was built for American car collector Peter Read who has previously purchased a DB7 Zagato. In terms of styling, the car mimics the aforementioned coupe but eschews the hardtop for a conventional canvas roof.
According to Read, the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial would perfectly merge Aston Martin and Zagato’s DNA by combining the elegance of design, typical style of Zagato, with the soul, power and prestige of Aston Martin, all developed over the last 100 years. This car would personify the timelessness of the Aston Martin and Zagato marquee.
