Toyota to introduce 15 battery electric vehicles by 2025

Toyota Motor said on Monday it will introduce 15 battery electric vehicle (BEV) models worldwide by 2025, expanding the electric vehicle lineup to achieve carbon neutrality prior to 2050.

The company will boost its number of electric models to around 70 from the presently offered 55.

The new BEV model Toyota bZ series, which was revealed at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show on Monday, is aimed at China, the United States, and Europe, the automaker said.

The automaker also said at the event on Monday that it prepares to launch over 20 new energy vehicles in China by 2025.
