It was about 4:30 a.m. when a crash involving a pickup truck and two commercial vehicles was reported at milepost 183.
Two people were confirmed dead by Monday afternoon.
Lanes in both directions were closed as the investigation into the cause of the crash is being carried out.
By Monday afternoon, the southbound lanes were reopened, but the northbound lanes were still closed.
