Two were killed and three injured after a car fell into a canal in Alligator Alley, West Broward, Florida.
The incident took place near mile marker 29 of I-75 in Broward County.
Five people were initially treated for injuries. The five included three adult women between the ages of 20 and 30 and two children between 2-3 years.
Good Samaritans jumped into action and pulled the victims out of the car after it fell into the canal.
By the time those women were taken out of the water, both were in cardiac arrest. One was admitted to Broward Health Medical Center and the other was admitted to Cleveland Clinic.
Both women were later pronounced dead.
The third adult and two children suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
It is yet to be known what caused the car to fall into the canal.
