Two killed after crash involving big rig in Fresno County

Two women were killed after a vehicle crash involving a big rig in Fresno County on Monday afternoon.

The crash took place around 4:30 pm near Russell and Shields Avenues.

The driver of a Toyota failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by the big rig.

Two female occupants of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was admitted to the hospital with major injuries.

The big rig driver was not injured.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
