Two people were killed after a four-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on Wednesday.
It was about 10:55 a.m. when officials were dispatched to the multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Plank Road and Bragg Road.
Officials saw four vehicles involved in the crash. One of the vehicles was a commercial bucket truck.
The crash took place when the commercial bucket truck was traveling eastbound on Plank Road before it entered the intersection and hit a Ford Fusion Sedan.
Both vehicles then kept going and hit two separate Toyota trucks that were traveling in the westbound turn lane of Plank Rd.
After that, the commercial bucket truck overturned on the median.
Both people inside the Ford Fusion were admitted to Mary Washington Hospital.
The passenger, a 76-year-old identified as Peggy Proffitt, died from her injuries in the hospital.
The driver, her husband, was also killed in the crash. He was a 75-year-old identified as Larry Proffitt. He succumbed to his injures in VCU Medical Center.
A third person in one of the Toyota trucks was hospitalized to another hospital. He was treated and released.
Both occupants of the buck truck were not injured.
