Two men, aged 26 and 53, were killed after a hit and run car crash in North Highlands, California on Monday evening.
The car crash took place just after 6 p.m. on I-80 near Madison Avenue.
A GMC traveling westbound near the Madison Avenue off-ramp veered off to the side of the road and hit two disabled vehicles on the side of the freeway.
The two individuals were tending to one of the cars pulled off to the side.
The passenger of the GMC suffered injuries that were life-threatening.
The driver of the GMC fled on foot toward the area around Scandia nearby, according to California Highway Patrol.
The suspect was described as a balding Hispanic man, with blue jeans, no shirt, and tattoos.
Identities of the victims were not released.
