Two people were killed and five others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana.
The crash took place after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 182 and U.S. Highway 90 when a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was driven by 36-year-old identified as Dionicio Gutierrez-Rios of Thibodaux was traveling west on Highway 182 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic when he was making a left turn onto the Highway 90 West on-ramp. The Silverado was then hit by a 2017 Dodge RAM 3500.
Gutierrez-Rios had minor injuries but two of his passengers died in the crash and the other one was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the RAM and two passengers in the vehicle had minor injuries.
Louisiana State Police is investigating the crash.
